MIND 24-7 Recognizes The Unique Mental Health Challenges Of The LGBTQ Community
During Pride Month, MIND 24-7 celebrates the LGBTQ community, and recognizes the unique challenges LGBTQ individuals face every day.
Mental Health America reports that LGBTQ youth are six times more likely to report experiencing depression when compared to those who do not identify as LGBTQ.
According to research conducted by the Trevor Project, nearly 1.8 million LGBTQ youth seriously consider attempting suicide each year.
LGBTQ adults and seniors are also more likely to consider suicide, face job insecurity, homelessness, and depression.
Finding an affirming provider can be a critical key to ensuring both physical and mental health.
Do you know what “PRIDE” stands for?
PRIDE is an acronym for Personal Rights in Defense and Education. The organization was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1966 by Steve Ginsburg. PRIDE, from its very inception, was much more radical than the pre-1960s homosexual rights groups, which were more deferential.
The providers at our MIND 24-7 facilities believe safe, affordable, quality mental healthcare should be accessible to all regardless of who you are or who you love. Open 24 hours a day, we offer on-the-spot treatment for mental and behavioral health concerns, including anxiety and depression.
We are committed to ensuring any patient, including LGBTQ patients, is met with the highest quality of care.
If you or a loved one is struggling, text or call 844-646-3247 (or just WALK IN) to one of our three locations in the greater-Phoenix area, no appointment is necessary.
